Box Score FERRUM, Virginia -- Guilford College picked up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball win tonight at Ferrum College, winning 11-9 at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
Bryce Vestal homered to left field to lead off the game, then the Quakers tacked on a pair of runs to take a 3-0 lead. Nick Funk had a solo shot that cleared the left field fence and the Panthers trailed 3-1 after one full inning.
Ferrum got three in the bottom of the second inning on Shawn Baxter's RBI double to left center and Ozzie Torres' 2-RBI single to center and the Panthers were on top 4-3 after two innings.
Guilford scored a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning to go out in front 5-4. The Panthers responded with four runs in the bottom half of the frame, two on Grayson Chitwood's RBI single through the right side and one each on Bryce Thacker's sac fly and Justin Brady's single, both to left center, to make it an 8-5 edge for Ferrum.
Guilford would come out swinging in the fifth, scoring five runs to grab 10-8 lead, one they would never relinquish. The Quakers added a run in the top of the eighth inning and Ferrum answered with one on the bottom half of the frame on Chitwood's sac fly to right field, but that was all the Panthers could muster.
