VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball doubleheaders with Virginia Wesleyan University at TowneBank Park this afternoon.

GAME ONE
Virginia Wesleyan scored first in the opener, scoring two in the first inning off a RBI double and a wild pitch. The Marlins would add another run in the second inning off an RBI single. Ferrum answered with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning on a two-run single by Nick Funk with the bases loaded.
Virginia Wesleyan scored four more runs in the bottom of the seventh, to extend the lead to 7-2. The Panthers stormed back in the eighth to tie up at 7-7 after a Clayton Michael double, a wild pitch, and a two run single by Benjamin Thomas. In the bottom half of the eighth the Marlins would score three runs to hold onto a 10-7 win.

GAME TWO
The Marlins jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after the first two innings of play with the help of four different players hitting home runs. Ferrum used a big third inning to pull within three runs, 7-4. Funk and Thomas both hit RBI singles and Grayson Chitwood doubled to drive in a run. Tyson Measamer hit a moon shot over the right field fence to get the Panthers within two runs, 7-5.
Garrett Lyons hit his second homer of the day in the fifth to extend the lead to 8-5. Thomas then drove in the final run for Ferrum on an RBI groundout in the eighth.
