ODAC Release
FERRUM, Virginia -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) has named its 2023 Softball All-Conference Team and Ferrum College's
Lyndsey Sears has been honored.
A senior pitcher/1B from Forest City, North Carolina, Sears has been named to the All-ODAC third team. This is her second All-ODAC honor, including a second team selection in 2022. Sears capped her career with the 2023 Ferrum College President's Cup Award. She also earned All-State second team honors in 2020, as named by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
Sears spent 102.1 innings in the circle this season, closing with a 9-7 record, 105 strikeouts a 1.98 ERA. She also batted .333 with six doubles, seven home rums and 29 RBI. Sears finished the season with a .405 on-base percentage and a .598 slugging percentage.
ODAC Player of the Year honors went to Rilee Baughan, while Pitcher of the Year and the ODAC/Va. Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete went to Gracie Ellis, both from Randolph-Macon College. Virginia Wesleyan University's Laci Campbell earned Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year honors went to Roanoke College's Mike Mitchell.
