THE BASICS
Ferrum led by seven after the first quarter and carried momentum into halftime, but UNC Pembroke closed strong down the stretch to secure the win.
The Braves trailed 33–28 at the half before outscoring Ferrum 18–13 in the third quarter to pull within two. The teams traded leads nine times overall, with the final change coming midway through the fourth as UNC Pembroke used timely three-point shooting and defensive pressure to take control.
Natalie Evington led UNC Pembroke with a game-high 15 points, knocking down five three-pointers, including several key shots in the fourth quarter. The Braves finished the night with a 41–35 rebounding edge and shot 80 percent from the free-throw line.
Ferrum cut the deficit to one point with just over three minutes remaining, but UNC Pembroke answered with a clutch three-pointer from Evington and sealed the game at the free-throw line in the final seconds.
