GREENWOOD, S.C. -- The Ferrum College men's golf team finished 18th overall at the Greenwood Men's Invitational, hosted by Lander University and held Monday and Tuesday, March 9-10, at Greenwood Country Club. The Panthers posted a two-day, three-round total of 907 (298-309-300) on the par-72, 6,800-yard course.
THE BASICS
Grand Valley State University claimed the team title with an 844 (279-285-280). Individually, Bryce Wheeler and Owen Kinnunen shared medalist honors at 11-under-par 205.
PANTHERÂ HIGHLIGHTS
Junior
Brandon Jones led the Panthers with a strong individual showing, tying for 17th place with a 2-under-par 214. Jones opened the event with rounds of 73 and 72 before closing with his best round of the tournament, a 3-under 69, to move up the leaderboard.
Wyatt Larson finished tied for 80th at 227 after posting rounds of 72, 76, and 79.
Addison Lawrence placed 99th with a 235 (77-83-75), while
Tiaan Diedericks and
Ryan Austin each tied for 103rd with identical totals of 240. Diedericks carded rounds of 76, 87, and 77, while Austin shot 77, 78, and 85. As a team, Ferrum opened the event with a 298 in the first round before shooting 309 in the second round and rebounding with a 300 in the final round.
