Shreeve Named CC Flag Football Freshman of the Month

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's Payson Shreeve has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Freshman of the Month, as announced on Friday, March 6. Shreeve is quarterback from Gilbert, Arizona, and prepped at Highland High School. She is Ferrum's first such selection by the league office. 

Shreeve played in two games in the month of February, leading the Panthers to a pair of wins on Saturday, February 28, at home. The Panthers beat #21 Lindsey Wilson College 39-19, then posted a a 53-0 shutout win over Hollins University to open the season at 2-0.

Against Lindsey Wilson, Shreeve was 22-37 passing for 401 yards and six touchdowns. Then in Ferrum's win over Hollins, she was 13-14 passing for 192 yards and another six touchdowns. Her two game totals included 593 passing yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Panthers are now 3-1, with the most recent game a 40-6 blowout over North Carolina Central University March 6 in Ferrum. Coach Garrett Roth's team will be back in action Wednesday, March 11, at home against #5 Milligan University with a scheduled start time of 4:00 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.
