FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped a 3-0 decision at home to Francis Marion University in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action tonight at Swartz Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
Francis Marion took control early with a 25-19 first-set victory that was tight through the end. The Patriots followed with a 25-17 win in the second set before taking the third set 25-12 to close out the league match.

KEY FC STATS
Catherine Bennett led the Panthers with five kills, two service aces and three blocks, while Emma Powell added five kills and five blocks. Lily Ritzema contributed six kills and two blocks, and Selah Dellinger added four kills and one block. Makayla Rumley recorded three kills, one solo block and two block assists, while Danielle Worthy added one kill and two block assists. Harleigh Propst directed the Ferrum offense with 10 assists, while Skye Carter had nine assists.

Coach Morgan Milligan's team will return to action Saturday, September 12, at home against Converse University. The Conference Carolinas match is scheduled for a noon first serve at Swartz Gymnasium.
