
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Ferrum College opened the 2008 season, the first under new Head Coach Darren Hodges, with an 11-1 win Feb. 23 on the road over non-conference opponent Huntingdon College.
Sophomore
Michael Nolte went 2-3 with a pair of runs, three RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Senior
Nick Baker went 3-5 with two runs and an RBI.
Sophomore
Brian Bowles was credited with the win on the mound. Bowles scattered three hits over 6.1 innings, striking out six of the 21 batters he faced. He allowed three hits and an earned run.
Junior
Dennis Cauley pitched 2.1 innings of relief, allowing one hit and striking out three. Cauley faced eight batters and allowed no runs.
Ferrum (1-0) will play Huntingdon again Sunday Feb. 24, before traveling north to face King College in Bristol, Tennessee, Monday Feb. 25.
