DANVILLE, Va. -- Ferrum College won two of three doubles matches, then took five of six singles matches en route to a 7-2 win over Averett University in USA South women's tennis action April 2 on the road.
Morgan Moran,
Shauna Simon and
Dayna Jacobsen each won in singles and doubles. Moran defeated Kayla Craddock 6-3, 6-3 at #3 singles, Simon beat Eliisa Alatola 6-2, 6-2 at #4 singles and Jaconsen beat Hannimari Savola 6-1, 6-0 at #5.
Moran and Simon beat Alatola and Niina Marttila 8-4 at #2 doubles, while Jacobsen teamed with
Leah Austin for an 8-0 win over Savola and Megan Brady at #3 doubles.
Katie Porter was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Marttila at #2 singles.
Ferrum (4-5, 2-2 USA South) will be back in action Saturday, April 5, at home against North Carolina Wesleyan College. The doubleheader with Ferrum's men is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
