FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College baseball team picked up an 8-4 non-conference over Bridgewater College April 9 at home, stopping a five-game losing streak. The win comes just three days after the Eagles stopped Ferrum 7-6 in 10 innings in Bridgewater.

Travis Crump led the way offensively, going 4-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Crump is batting .407 this season with five doubles and a pair of triples. Catcher
Nick Baker went 3-4, scored a run and was hit by a pitch. Baker leads the team with a .641 batting average, and has six doubles, a triple, five home runs, and 22 RBI.

Michael Nolte went 3-4 with two RBI and a run.
Lincoln Garner got the win in relief of starter
Tyler Milstead. Garner pitched the seventh and eighth innings and allowed one hit and no runs, while striking out one and walking two. Milstead scattered six hits over the first six innings, allowed three earned runs, struck out one and walked none.
Andrew Chrismer, Mike Lenox and Mike Graves each had a pair of base hits for Bridgewater (19-12-1). The Eagles used seven pitchers in the loss, with Brett Howell, the fifth pitcher, absorbing the loss.
Ferrum (8-16) returns to action Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, at home against Christopher Newport University. Prior to Sunday's game, the Panthers will retire the #22 jersey of former coach Abe Naff. That ceremony will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m.
