FERRUM, Va. -- Justin Franklin had a two-run homer in the eighth inning to help Ferrum College beat USA South opponent Greensboro College 11-2 this afternoon at home.

DJ Phillips went 5-5 with a double, a run and two RBI.  Paul Jaglowski went 3-5 with a triple, two runs and three RBI.

Brian Mays pitched eight innings to get the win for Ferrum (14-6, 4-3 USA South).  Mays allowed four hits and no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.

Michael Manfro absorbed the loss for Greensboro (10-17, 0-7 USA South), pitching 1.2 innings and allowing seven earned runs. Vince Grasso went 2-3 and scored a run for the Pride.

Ferrum and Greensboro were scheduled to play the second of the two-game series Sunday, March 28, at 2 p.m. in Ferrum, but forecast rain has push the game back to Monday at 7 p.m. at Panther Field.
