FERRUM, Va. -- Justin Franklin homered in the seventh inning and the game was halted one batter later as Ferrum College beat Virginia Wesleyan College 15-5 in non-conference baseball action this afternoon at home.

Franklin went 3-5 with a double, a home run, two runs and six RBI for Ferrum (18-9). He has nine doubles, two triples, 53 RBI and a .387 batting average this season.

Paul Jaglowski also went 3-5 for Ferrum, with gtwo doubles, two runs and two RBI. Michael Baskeyfield was credited with the win, pitching two innings with two hits and two runs.

Max Alexrod went 3-4 with a double and two RBI for Virginia Wesleyan. Gage Collins had a two-run home run in the fourth inning for the Marlins (17-13).

Ferrum (18-9) is on the road Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11, at Shenandoah University. The USA South games will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
