2010 USA South Baseball All-Tournament Team
BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Ferrum College second baseman
Jason Butterworth has been named to the 2010 USA South Baseball All-Tournament Team.
In four Ferrum games at last weekend's tournament, Butterworth batted .500 (8-16) with a triple, three runs and six RBI. He registered nine putouts and 11 assists with two errors, good for a .909 tournament fielding percentage. Butterworth was an All-Conference honorable mention this season.
Ferrum closed the USA South tournament with a 2-2 record, and was one of three teams remaining when it was eliminated with a 14-2 loss to #4 seed Christopher Newport University. The highlight of Ferrum's tournament run was a 6-2 win April 16 over regular season champion and top seed North Carolina Wesleyan College.
Ferrum (20-13) has five games remaining on its schedule, all road contests, beginning with an April 19 trip to Pulaski, Virginia, to play Emory & Henry College. Ferrum will be at Washington & Lee University April 20 and at the University of Mary Washington May 4. The Panthers close out the season with a game each May 6-7 at York College (PA).
