FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Tyler Younger had a solo home run in the eighth inning to help Methodist University beat Ferrum College 7-3 in USA South baseball action this afternoon at Armstrong-Shelley Field.

Paul Jaglowski was a bright spot for the Panthers, going 3-4 with two doubles and a run scored.  Taryn Hayden, Matt Reynolds, Wes Walker, Eddie McGrath and Jason Parker each had a base hit.

Starter Chris Walker absorbed the loss, pitching 7.2 innings.  He allowed 11 hits, seven earned runs, and a walk, while striking out five.

Steven Kirby went 3-4 with a run and three RBI for the Monarchs (16-15, 3-6 USA South).  Ferrum (19-9, 5-4 USA South) and Methodist  play again Sunday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m.
