Chris Walker pitched a complete nine-inning game with six strikeouts to earn the win as Ferrum College beat visiting Guilford College 12-1 in non-conference baseball tonight at Panther Field.
Guilford starter Will Henschel was pulled after two thirds of an inning after allowing five runs on five hits in the first inning.
Teddy Turner went 3-5 with a double, two runs and four RBI for Ferrum (12-20).
Trey Laney went 3-4 with two RBI.
Taryn Hayden went 2-5 with a double, a run and an RBI.
Justin Cox and
Hank Parsley each had a pair of base hits.
Nathan Fulbright went 2-4 with a run for the Quakers (13-16). Ferrum returns to the diamond Friday, April 5, at home against Southern Virginia University. The non-conference game is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. at Panther Field.
