FERRUM, Va. -- Trevor Otey pitched five innings with five strikeouts to get the win as Hampden-Sydney College beat Ferrum College 15-5 in non-conference baseball action tonight at Panther Field.
Hampden-Sydney led 4-0 after two innings and 6-2 after four innings, but the Panthers scored three runs by the sixth innning to cut the lead to 6-5. The Tigers scored four in the seventh inning, three in the eighth, and two in the ninth for the final count.
John Lloyd went 3-6 with a double, four RBI, and two runs for the Tigers (8-2). Ferrum got two base hits each from
Ty Comer,
Adam Duncan, and
Casey Naff. Comer was 2-4 with a double and two RBI.
Ferrum (5-2) returns to action Thursday, February 27 at Bridgewater College. The non-conference game is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. in Bridgewater, Virginia.
