FERRUM, Va. --
Amanda Roberts combined to go 3-6 with a double and a run, and pitched a complete game in the nightcap to help Ferrum College post a pair of USA South wins over Meredith College. The Panthers won the opener 2-0, then came back to post a 4-3 win in the nightcap today at Franklin Community Bank Field.
The Avenging Angels (14-16, 8-8 USA South) led 3-1 in the fifth inning of game two, only to see Ferrum score three runs in the bottom half of the frame.
Miyana Ross scored on a double by
Chloe Brzycki,
Amanda Roberts scored on
Amber Coffin's groundout, and Brzycki scored on
Kylene Culler's single to center field.
Roberts scattered 11 hits over seven innings with three earned runs, no walks and three strikeouts to get the complete seven-inning win.
Emily Taylor pitched six innings to get the win in the opener.
