Courtney Hamm had five goals, and
Shannon Brown and
Kiani Mohica had four each to lead Ferrum College past LaGrange College 21-5 in USA South women's lacrosse action this afternoon on the road.
Ferrum opened a 5-0 lead 18 minutes into the game and never looked back. The Panthers held a 9-2 lead at the break and poured it on in the second half with a 12-3 spurt to close out the league win. Brown, Ferrum's scoring leader this season (33 goals, 12 asst, 45 pts), added three assists today.
Catie Vance had three goals and seven assists, while
Julianne Bove added three goals and four assists. Goalkeeper
Graceanne Gershner played all 60 minutes between the pipes, making three saves. Cheyenne St. Germaine and Sydney Garmany had a pair of goals each for LaGrange (1-7, 0-3 USA South). GK Kallie Brook made six stops in 60 minutes of net play.
Ferrum (5-2, 2-1 USA South) returns to action Wednesday, March 18, at Bridgewater College at 4:00 p.m. The Panthers then play at home Friday, March 20, against USA South opponent Methodist University at 4:00 p.m.
