NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Carol Thompson had four goals and Alexa Weaver had two goals and an assist to lead Christopher Newport University to a 10-0 non-conference field hockey win over Ferrum College this afternoon at Captains Field.

How It Happened
Thompson scored three of the Captains' first four goals inside 25 minutes of play and the rout was on. CNU led 5-0 at the break and poured it on in the second half as six different players scored. Courtney Gosslin played all 70 minutes in net for the Panthers, while Bailey Lien and Stephanie McKinney split time evenly for Christopher Newport. CNU out-shot Ferrum 38-0.
