Ferrum Falls 2-0 at Obelin in Field Hockey Opener

OBERLIN, Ohio -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference field hockey game this afternoon at Oberlin College, falling 2-0 in the season opener for both teams.

THE BASICS
Katie Ryan-O'Flaherty scored an unassisted goal in the 15th minute of play to break the ice and the Yeowomen took the 1-0 into halftime. Libby Royer then found the back of the cage off a cross from Lea Watkins-Chow for the final score of the afternoon. Kennedy Kline played all 70 minutes in net for Oberlin, posting four saves. Mia Holmes played 70 minutes for Ferrum with six stops.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"Today was a hard fought game for our Ferrum women. We created some good opportunities, but unfortunately weren't able to get the ball in the goal. The team is showing some real promise early on and we're looking forward to building on today.
