2019 ODAC BASEBALL TOURNAMENT
FERRUM, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament is set to begin this weekend with four first round best-of-three series being contested on campus at the higher seeds. Ferrum College, the #5 seed, will play on the road for the opening round.

THE BASICS
Ferrum, Shenandoh and Virginia Wesleyan tied for third place in the regular season standings, all three finishing 13-9 in ODAC play. The tiebreaker used to determine seeding involves comparing win-loss records in games played among the three. Last year's ODAC Tournament champ Shenandoah went 3-1 in contests against Ferrum and Virginia Wesleyan, earning the #3 seed. Virginia Wesleyan went 2-2 against the Hornets and Panthers to earn the #4 seed. Ferrum's 1-3 mark against the other two gave the Panthers the #5 seed. This is Ferrum's first-ever ODAC Tournament, following a 30-year run in the USA South Athletic Conference.
FERRUM ON THE ROAD
Ferrum travels to Virginia Beach to take on #4 Virginia Wesleyan. The Panthers were originally scheduled for a Saturday-Sunday, May 4-5, best-of-3 series, but a forecast of inclement weather has moved the series up a day. The two teams are now scheduled for a single nine-inning game Friday at 3:30 p.m., followed by a single nine-inning game Saturday at noon. If the two teams split, then a third game will be played, approximately 30 minutes following Saturday's game.
