Box Score FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College baseball team dropped the final game of a three-game non-conference series with the Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College at Panther Field, 10-8. The Panthers brought the tying run to the plate in the home half of the 9th, but Bishop closer Kevin Williams shut the door with a strikeout to end the game.

THE BASICS
The Bishops opened the scoring in their half of the second inning as Tristian Griffin laid down a perfect bunt for an infield single, bringing Davie Morgan around to score.
The third inning was a busy one for the N.C. Wesleyan as well, as the Bishops brought across three runs in the frame. Brad Pennington got things started with an RBI double where he would later come around to score on a wild pitch. Morgan would round out the scoring with a sacrifice fly, bringing Jackson Hobbs across to score.
A two-run Panther error would put N.C. Wesleyan up 6-0, and the Bishops would push across three more in the fifth to make it 9-0.
Issac Yeaman would put the Panthers in the run column scoring off of a wild pitch in the home half of the fifth, but the Bishops would get it right back to make it 10-1 through six complete.
The Panthers would then have a huge seventh inning to claw back into the game. Clayton Michael and Grey Sherfey would each draw bases-loaded walks and then Josh Greenway would come up big with a bases clearing double to make it 10-6. Tyson Measamer would pinch-hit and reach on an error in the same inning, scoring Greenway.
Ferrum would then add one more in the closing frame as Rufus Hurdle would score on a balk, but the Panthers would later leave the tying run at the plate.
