Panthers Come Up Short at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Virginia -- The Ferrum College field hockey team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference affair on the road at Shenandoah University Friday afternoon, 8-0.

THE BASICS
The first stanza saw just one goal from either squad, as Kelsey Jones got the Hornets on the board with just :19 left in the quarter. Shenandoah would add one more before the halftime break, as Elise Velasquez would break through the Panther defense as the Hornets would lead 2-0.

The second half saw the Hornet offense come alive, as Shenandoah would add six scores in the final 30:00 to push it out of reach.

Mia Holmes was a bright spot for the Panthers, as she recorded 20 saves on 28 shots on goal.
