Box Score FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College baseball team evened the season series with Averett University Tuesday night with a victory in extra innings, 9-8. Ozzie Torres came across to score in the 10th frame after a wild pitch with two outs at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
Averett would strick first in the first frame, scoring on a fly ball to right field, as the relay throw bounced off of the runner's helmet at first and got away allowing Zelgin Jackson to score. The Panthers would answer right back, scoring four of their own in the frame.
Torres came across to score on a wild pitch. Rufus Hurdle brought Grey Sherfey around on a sacrafice fly and Ben Thomas brought Greenway around on a single. Ferrum would then make it 4-1 on a Jackson Horton walk, scoring Matt Yarbrough.
Yarbrough would come up big again the the fourth, clearing the bases on a three-bagger to right center, scoring Torres and Horton.
Thomas would then make it 7-1 on a single up the middle in the 5th, bringing Issac Yeaman around to score.
Averett would answer back one in the sixth and and six in the seventh with a slew of hits. Brandon Hatcher, Tanner Bradshaw and Hudson Rowe all picked up RBI singles in the 7th frame, while Kyle Wilson capped the inning off with a 2-RBI double to take the lead.
The Panthers would tie the game in the bottom of the 7th when Tyson Measamer came on to pinch hit and picked up a sacrifice fly, scoring Darden Eure-Parrish. Torres would then end the game after extra baseball in the 10th, scoring off of a wild pitch with two outs.
