Box Score SALEM, Virginia -- Roanoke College built an early 3-0 lead, then went on to hand Ferrum College a 6-2 field hockey loss in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play tonight at Kerr Stadium.

THE BASICS
Roanoke scored three goals in the first six minutes of play, then tacked on a second-quarter goal to make it a 4-0 game at the break. Emilee Wooten's goal less than a minute into the third quarter extended the lead to 5-0.
Tatianna Roberts broke up the shutout, poking a shot past Roanoke goalkeeper Hannah Roerden for an unassisted goal in the third quarter at 41:56. Teammate Dominique Harper found the back of the cage with an unassisted goal, scoring off her own saved shot, at the 50:19 mark of the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 5-2.
The Maroons added a goal in the final minute of play for the final count. Roanoke outshot Ferrum 22-3 and closed the game with a 9-0 edge in penalty corners.
