Box Score DANVILLE, Virginia -- The Ferrum College baseball team dropped a mid-week non-conference game on the road to the Cougars of Averett University, 4-3.

THE BASICS
The Panthers got things started in the one, putting a two-spot up in the top of the second as Darden Eure-Parrish roped a 2-run double down the line, scoring Benjamin Thomas and Jackson Horton.
Averett would scratch one back as Tanner Bradshaw left the yard in the home-half of the fourth. The Cougars would claim the lead with a Brandon Hatcher double down the left field line in the bottom of the fifth.
Matt Yarbrough knotted the game up in the seventh, bringing Grey Sherfey around to score.
Averett would then load the bases in the bottom of the last frame, and a ground ball up the middle would bring the winning run around to score in the form of Nolan Maccabe after the Panthers were unable to turn two and get out of the inning.
