Box Score GREENSBORO, North Carolina -- Ferrum College traveled south this afternoon to take on Guilford College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball action, falling 14-12 at McBane Field.

THE BASICS
Ferrum led 2-1 when Justin Brady's RBI double down the right field line in the bottom of the second inning drove in a pair of runs. Guilford answered with two runs in the third inning, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to grab a 6-2 lead.
Ferrum trimmed it to 6-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Matt Yarbrough hammered a ball over the left field fence. The Quakers would again answer, this time with eight runs in the bottom of the frame to take a commanding 14-3 lead.
Ferrum dug deep and came up with five runs in the seventh inning. Grayson Chitwood started it off with an RBI sacrifice fly, then Yarbrough doubled to right field to drive in another run. Tyson Measamer's double to right center drove in another run, Yarbrough scored on a wild pitch, then Clayton Michael had an RBI single to right field to score another run.
In the eighth inning, Yarbrough and Measamer both walked with the bases loaded to score a pair of runs. And in the ninth, Josh Greenway sent a ball to deep left center for a triple that drove in another two runs, but the Panther rally stopped there.

Coach Ryan Brittle's team will be back in action Sunday, April 28, at home against Shenandoah University. The ODAC doubleheader was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 27, but the forecast in Ferrum shows rain for Saturday so the games were moved to Sunday with a scheduled noon start at Panther Field.
