FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College baseball team used a Clayton Michael ground ball in the home half of the ninth to post an Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory over the Emory & Henry College Wasps Tuesday night at Panther Field, 9-8.

RECORDS
Ferrum (9-20, 6-14 ODAC)
Emory & Henry (5-15, 4-15 ODAC)

THE BASICS
Emory & Henry made noise in the top of the first frame as Hayden Milley's home run to left field was good enough for two runs, but the Panthers made early work of the deficit with RBI singles from Grayson Chitwood and Matt Yarbrough gave Ferrum a 3-2 lead through one complete.

The second inning saw the Wasps leave the yard for the second time in as many innings as Nathan Treadway homered to left field. Ferrum would then answer in the third as Yarbrough's sacrfice fly scored Josh Greenway to propel the Panthers back into the lead. Yarbrough then stayed hot at the dish with a two run shot to left field to extend the advantage to 6-3. The sixth inning was a busy one for the Panther offense as well as Grey Sherfey manufactured a run with a ball in the infield to score Darden Eure-Parrish and would later come around to score on a Ozzie Torres sacrifice fly.

Emory & Henry would steal the momentum in the visiting-half of the eighth as Connor Buchanan's double down the right field line and Haynes' sacrifice fly brought the Wasps within three before Milley's second shot to left field knotted the game up at eight apiece.

The Panthers would later load the bases after two intentional walks before Michael's ground ball to third base was enough to score Greenway and lead the Panthers to their sixth ODAC victory of the season.
