Panther Women Compete in Tri-Meet at Randolph

RESULTS

LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- The Ferrum College women's swimming team competed in a tri-meet tonight at Randolph College's Michels Athletics Center, with Pfeiffer University also competing. The host WildCats won a pair of duals, while Pfeiffer won one. Ferrum's women dropped a heartbreaker to the Falcons, falling 85-83.

THE BASICS
Liza Montgomery posted a first-place finish in the 50 butterfly for the Panthers, and finished in second in the 500 freestyle and second in the rugged 1650 freestyle. Lauren Hackett finished second in three events; the 50 breaststroke, the 100 breaststroke and the 100 IM.

Jordan Prezio was fourth in the 50 backstroke, the 100 backstroke and the 100 IM. Newcomer Carley Dye was fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 50 backstroke. The foursome of Montgomery, Dye, Prezio and Hackett closed our the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

UP NEXT
Coach Margaret Bisnett's team will be back in the pool Saturday, December 3, at Salem College. Ferrum will compete against the host Spirits and Hollins University at Salem Aquatic Center.
