WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- The Ferrum College women's swimming team competed Saturday, December 3, in a non-conference meet at Salem College, picking up its first win of the season at Salem Aquatic Center.

THE BASICS
Liza Montgomery and Lauren Hackett finished first in all four events they entered. Montgomery opened the day with a first-place in the rugged 1000 freestyle, was first in the 200 butterfly and the 500 freestyle, then closed out the day swimming the opening leg of Ferrum's first-place 200 freestyle relay team. Hackett was first in the 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle and 200 breaststroke, and anchored the 200 freestyle relay.

Jordan Prezio placed first in the 100 backstroke and the 200 backstroke, finished second in the 50 freestyle, then swam the third leg in the 200 freestyle relay. Panther newcomer Carley Dye finished second in the 100 backstroke and third in the 50 freestyle, then swam the second leg in the 200 freestyle relay.

Bisnett's team will be back in the pool Saturday, January 14, at home against Sweet Briar College. The non-conference meet is scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start at the Swartz Gym pool.
