Jump Named Assistant Volleyball Coach at Ferrum College

FERRUM, Virginia – Director of Athletics John Sutyak has announced the hiring of Tyler Jump as Assistant Volleyball Coach at Ferrum College.

Jump comes to Ferrum from Pulaski County High School where he served as Head Coach for the past year. While coaching at Pulaski, Jump was also an Associate Club Director for River Valley Juniors Volleyball Club in Christiansburg, Virginia.

"We're excited to get Tyler on campus and working with our team," said Ferrum Head Coach Shelbylynn Adair. "His experience in the game of volleyball will benefit us tremendously. I'm looking forward to working with Tyler."

As Pulaski's Associate Club Director, he conducted weekly meetings and bi-monthly evaluations with coaches of teams he supervised and facilitated communication between coaches, players, and parents.

"I am genuinely excited for the opportunity to join Coach Adair in helping the volleyball program grow into a powerhouse in the ODAC conference," said Jump. "I have confidence that the work we put in with the players will be reflective in their performance when we step on the court together on September 3rd. Go Panthers!"

Before coaching at Pulaski, Jump served as an assistant coach at Blacksburg High School in 2018 and Beach Elite Volleyball club in 2016-17. He coordinated and planned workouts and practices, promoting a balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes. Jump started at Ferrum on August 1st.
