Aparicio Named Assistant Baseball Coach at Ferrum

FERRUM, Virginia -- Director of Athletics Cleive Adams has announced the hiring of Edgard Aparicio as Assistant Baseball Coach at Ferrum College. Aparicio will work under first-year Head Baseball Coach Eric Owens.

Aparicio comes to Ferrum from Atlantis University in Miami, Florida, where he served the past two years as Associate Head Coach. He was directly responsible for the development of training programs, coordinating and supervising all aspects of practices, games and throwing plans, evaluating player performance, and cultivating a positing team culture.

Prior to his work at Atlantis, Aparicio served a year as pitching coach at ASA Miami, an NJCAA program, where he helped the head coach in planning and executing practice sessions and games, provided individual workout plans, and helped maintain team equipment and facilities.

Aparicio also served the past four years as a camp instructor at Miami Start Baseball Academy, and is currently Head Coach for the Covington Lumberjacks, and a year as baseball scout for Prospect Select Baseball.

Aparicio played baseball four years at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens as a pitcher. He closed is career in 2020 with a 10-14 record on the mound, pitching 190 and a third innings. He had a 4.40 earned run average with 177 career strikeouts.
