WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Ferrum College suffered a 5-0 setback to Emory & Henry College this afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action. The match was played at Salem College, and stopped after decision was reached.
Christopher Miller and
Joseph Jensen fell 8-0 at #1 doubles to Chip Wintringham and Mathew Nelson.
Darren Agee and
Nick Baker lost 8-1 at #2 doubles at Adam Henderson and Michael Young.
Cain Walter and
Michael Marsh were downed 8-4 at #3 doubles by Zachery Eccher and Brian Butler.
Agee lost 6-0, 6-0 to Henderson at #2 singles, and Jensen lost 6-1, 6-0 at #3 singles. Miller's #1 singles match was unfinished, as were Baker's, Walter's and Marsh's matches at #4-6 singles, respectively.
The Panthers will regroup for a home match Sunday, Feb. 27, against Guilford. The non-conference match gets underway at 12 p.m. at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts on campus. Ferrum (3-1) will then be idle until a March 12 home match against Randolph-Macon College.
