ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Ferrum College fell 7-2 to #3 seed Averett University in the quarterfinals of the 2016 USA South Men's Tennis Tournament. The Panthers were the #6 seed for the tournament, being held this weekend at North Carolina Wesleyan College.

How It Happened
The Cougars won two of the three double matches to take a 2-1 lead, with
Connor Moncure and
Taylor Napier winning 8-4 in the #1 spot over Averett's Oliver Lindqvist and James Wright. The Cougars then took five of the six singles matches.
Danny Keo grabbed the lone singles win with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) win in the #5 spot. Averett will face #2 Methodist University Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the semifinals.

Coach Rod Baker's and men and women will close out the 2015-16 season Saturday, April 16, at home against Emory & Henry College.
