Box Score DURHAM, N.C. -- Ferrum College opened postseason play in emphatic fashion, rolling past University of Mount Olive, 72-0, in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Championship Tournament Friday, April 17, at Durham County Memorial Stadium.

THE BASICS
The Panthers set the tone early and never let up, using a high-powered offense and relentless defensive pressure to cruise into the next round. Ferrum wasted little time getting on the board, as quarterback
Payson Shreeve connected with
Jaden Hiers on touchdown passes of 22 and 27 yards in the opening quarter to build a 13-0 lead.
The Panthers blew the game open in the second quarter, erupting for 39 points. Ferrum's defense sparked the surge when
Danilynn Bonilla intercepted a pass and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown. Shreeve later found
Macy Taylor for a score, while
Malaea Lotima-Tonga added a trio of touchdown passes to Hiers,
Gracious Wise, and
Breyana Kimmons to push the lead to 45-0 at halftime.
Ferrum continued its dominance in the third quarter, adding another touchdown to extend the advantage to 52-0. In the fourth quarter, the Panthers put the finishing touches on the shutout with 20 more points. Lotima-Tonga tossed touchdown passes to Hiers and Wise, and later connected with Kimmons for another score. Day'ana Mackey capped the scoring with a successful two-point conversion run.
Shreeve led the offense by completing 16-of-28 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns, while Lotima-Tonga added 77 passing yards and three touchdowns on 6-of-8 passing.
Hiers delivered a standout performance with four receptions for 89 yards and three touchdowns. Kimmons paced the Panthers with 106 receiving yards and a score, while Taylor added a touchdown reception.

Gracious Wise also found the end zone in the balanced offensive attack.
Defensively, Ferrum was dominant from start to finish, totaling eight sacks and three interceptions. Bonilla led the way with two interceptions, including a pick-six, while Lotima-Tonga also recorded an interception.
Samantha Pitzer anchored the pass rush with three sacks, and the Panthers consistently pressured the Mount Olive offense, limiting it to just 108 total yards.
