FERRUM, Va. --  Conference Carolinas has named its Freshmen of the Month and Ferrum College's Payson Shreeve has been named Women's Flag Football Freshman of the Month for April 2026. This is the second such honor for Shreeve, including February 2026.

In the month of April, Shreeve led Ferrum to a 5-1 mark, helping the Panthers win a share of the Conference Carolinas regular season title. Ferrum also finished runner-up at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Tournament. Shreeve was a combined 175-280 passing during April for 1,975 yards with 26 touchdowns, and rushed 22 times for 114 yards and three scores.

Shreeve's highest output during the month of April was in Ferrum's 102-0 shellacking of Conference Carolinas opponent Chowan University April 10 at home. In that game, she was 27-44 passing for 472 yards and 11 touchdowns, and added two rushes for eight yards and a score.

A freshman quarterback from Gilbert, Arizona, Shreeve completed her rookie season 517-798 passing for 5,994 yards and 70+ touchdowns. She also rushed 112 times for 327 yards and 13 scores. Shreeve was first team All-Conference Carolinas and the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Flag Football Player of the Year. She earned Conference Carolinas Player of the Week once this season, on March 4.

Ferrum closed out its inaugural flag football season with a 19-5 overall record, including an 8-1 mark in Conference Carolinas play under first year Head Coach Garrett Roth. The Panthers graduated one women's flag football player in May 2026, while another 20 players are eligible to return for the 2027 season.
