Flag Football Improves to 19-4 with Two Shutouts in Florida

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Ferrum College's women's flag football team competed in the first day of the 2026 Women's College Flag Finals and picked up a pair of shutout wins. The invitational event is being held Thursday through Saturday, May 7-9, at IMG Academy Stadium.

The Panthers opened play against Hendrix College Thursday morning, putting on a show to the tune of 45-0. The Panthers then posted a 35-0 win over Alabama State University later in the afternoon. 

Coach Garrett Roth's team improved to 19-4  with the wins in Ferrum's inaugural season of women's flag football. The Panthers won a share of the 2026 Conference Carolinas Flag Football regular season title and finished runner-up in the league's post-season championship tournament. 

Roth's team will learn later this morning who they will face in the next round of play this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Games are FREE of charge to spectators at IMG Stadium, while a pay-per-view video option can accessed at the link above.
