Served 10 season as assistant football coach at Ferrum before being named head coach in December 1993 *  87-79 career coaching record over 17 seasons at the helm of the Panther football program * Won a share of USA South titles in 2001, 2002 and 2005 * 2005 team went 9-2 overall, advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs, and finished first in the nation in rushing offense with a 361.4 yards-per-game average * 2000 team finished first in the nation in total defense with a 165.0 yards-per-game average allowed * Named 2005 USA South Football Coach of the Year * 10 Ferrum players earned Conference Player of the Year awards under Davis * Coached one All-American and one Academic All-American * Prior to joining the Ferrum staff, spent a year with East Carolina’s defensive unit * Also coached three seasons at Camden County High School, two years at Scotland Neck High School, two years at Northeast Academy, and a year at Hobgood Academy * Served as athletic director three years each at Camden County and Northeast, two years at Hobgood, and a year at Scotland Neck * Retired from coaching at the completion of the 2011 season. *  On 2022 Ferrum football staff as defensive analyst
