John Quinn played point guard for the 1964-1966 Ferrum College basketball teams. He was named to the First Team All Conference in 1965 and 1966, the most valuable player in the Cavalier-Tar Heel Conference Tournament and the Region 10 Tournament in 1965 and 1966 and named to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team in 1965. He received the Sportsmanship Award at the 1965 Hargrave Invitational Tournament and was the first basketball player in Ferrum College history to be named an All-American. He scored over 1000 points in his career history. He is active in his District 29 Challenger Division baseball and basketball programs. He received the William Winters Memorial Award in 1992, the District 29 Volunteer of the Year Award in 1993 and the Youth Appreciation Award from the District 29 Challenger Division in 1992, 1993, 1995, and 1996. He is currently with Dain Bosworth Incorporated as a liaison between floor brokers and customers on the New York Stock Exchange.
