Played Ferrum College basketball and football 1955-1957. Ferrum’s first Junior College All-American in 1957. Played in the first East-West Junior College All-American Bowl Game. Named co-captain and tri-captain of Ferrum football team and manager for the baseball team. President of the Varsity Club 1956-1957. Coached sandlot football, recreation basketball, and Little League baseball and served as an assistant football coach for Northside Junior High School. Umpire for Little League and Men’s League baseball. Principal organizer of the North Roanoke Recreation Club where he served as both athletic director and coach. Member of Northview United Methodist Church. Received the Citizen of the Year Award for Community Service from the Hollins Lions Club in 1972; the Campbell Salesman Merit Award in 1979; and the Ferrum College Distinguished Alumni Award in 1987. Recently retired from ITT Night Vision.
