A multi-sport standout at Ferrum who played all sports offered to women at the time: intercollegiate basketball and tennis and intramural flag football and softball. Member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society and named Ferrum Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Year in 1965 and 1966. Earned a bachelor’s degree from Radford University. Has been a Virginia High School League volleyball official for 19 years, and spent nine years as a VHSL basketball official. Vice president of Middlesex Education Association, 1993-95. Long-time community service and rescue squad volunteer. Now retired from coaching, she served as volleyball, softball, and gymnastics coach at Middlesex High School and was named District Coach of the Year in softball in 1980 and District Coach of the Year in volleyball in 1994. Currently teaching health, physical education, and driver’s education at Middlesex High School.
