Hall of Fame
Co-captain of both the football and basketball teams and lettered in baseball, basketball, and football at Ferrum. Member of the first Panther team that had an undefeated season in the history of the school. Named Junior College All-American in baseball. Transferred to Lynchburg College where he earned All-American honors in baseball. Signed with the Philadelphia Phillies upon graduation from Lynchburg in 1963. Holds bachelors and master’s degrees from Lynchburg College. Has worked as a coach and teacher at Gretna High School since 1967. Former head football and head basketball coach at Gretna, he currently is coach of the golf program, which he started there in 1980. Active athletics booster who works with Little League sports in the community.
