Went on to play two years at Virginia Tech on full scholarship, where he still holds the school record for season shutouts (5) ... First Team Metro All-Conference 1982 ... Drafted by Houston Astros in the 16th round 1982 ... Signed contract with Miami Marlins (Independent team in the Florida State League) ... Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the Year 1986 ... Set the Florida State League record with 24 saves in 1986 ... Spent Spring Training 1987 with Milwaukee Brewers ... Product Manager for 28 years with AREVA ... Became involved with Appomattox Youth Sports as a coach in 2000 ... Coached baseball 7 years, football for 2 years, basketball 5 years ... Appomattox Youth Sports Board 10 years, President 8 years ... National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), started Sophomore (14U) in Appomattox 2008, coached for 4 years, now responsible for the program ... Coached the High School Division of  NABF for 5 years ... Helped start town of Appomattox’s Sluggers Indoor Baseball Facility in Appomattox 2011
