Tina McBride Nowlin was a four-year starter for Ferrum women's basketball team and a three-year starter in women's tennis. Nowlin earned four All-Conference nods in basketball and one in tennis. She was a WBCA All-America honorable mention in 2003, and holds the #7 spot on Ferrum's women's basketball all-time scoring list with 1,384 career points. She was Ferrum's first junior to score 1,000 points, and was the 2002 USA South Women's Tennis Tournament runner-up at #6 singles. McBride earned Academic All-Conference in 2000, 2001 and 2003, and was on Ferrum Dean's List seven semesters before graduating Cum Laude. Additionally, the USA South Athletic Conference named Nowlin to it's Silver Anniversary Team. She has been a Mathematics Teacher at Phoebus High School since 2004, and the Math Department Chair since 2008. Nowlin coached the Phoebus women's tennis team two years, and was nominated for the Phoebus High School Teacher of the Year 2011.
