Track team for two years - long jump, triple jump, and sprints  • Established Ferrum records in the long jump and triple jump  •  After Ferrum, established the College of William and Mary indoor long jump record and sprint relay records  •  Established Virginia collegiate record in the long jump • Nationally ranked in the long jump (top 12)  •  The first and only AA coach in Virginia to win state titles in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track in the same season •While at Nelson County High School won 9 state titles in indoor and outdoor track and cross country  •  Won first VHSL Ring award for state championship • Coached SEC champions at the University of Alabama  •  Coached 8 Olympians in a 6 year period at Alabama  •  Coached 17 Olympians and 57 All Americans throughout career  •  Served as U.S. Track Athletics Congress representative for the southern region in the Long Jump 1988-93  •  Works with youth in various settings  •  Published articles in major journals on technique, strength and power • Takes part in various speaking engagements combined with music presentation
