Played baseball four years at Ferrum from 1991-95. He joined the Ferrum athletics staff as head cross country coach in 2018 and is now head coach for the Panther men's and women's track & field teams. After starting Ferrum's track & field program in Fall 2020, White had his first NCAA qualifier and All-American in Spring 2021. He served nine years as assistant track & field coach at Radford University from 2007-15, helping the Highlanders to a number of Big South Conference individual event titles. White also coached several USA Junior National Championship qualifiers, as well as USA National Championship qualifiers, a two-time All-American and an athlete who won the silver medal for the United States in the 2014 NACAC Championships in Canada. He taught and coached Middlesex High School in Saluda, Virginia, for 11 years from 1995-2007, including six years as Athletics Director. White also served as head football coach and head track & field coach, starting the indoor track program, leading the Middlesex boys track team to three Tidewater District Championships, a Region title and state champion runner-up finish. White earned Tidewater District Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and Region A Coach of the Year in 2006.
