Co-captain of the 1967 Ferrum football squad. Made All ACC-Academic Team at Wake Forest University. Fourth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970 NFL draft. Opted to play in the CFL for Montreal Alouettes, where he made the All-Pro Team five times and was named outstanding lineman in 1974. Completed pro career after stints with the Baltimore Colts, Philadelphia Eagles and the CFL’s Hamilton Tigercats. Now serves as managing director, executive vice-president and co-owner of the investment firm of Manning & Napier, Advisors, Inc.Â
